# Substrate Verification

> Substrate Verification Services issues cognitive substrate certification under the SV-P/v1 protocol. Subjects are classified as CARBON (carbon-based cognition confirmed), SILICON (silicon-based cognition detected), or INDETERMINATE (substrate indeterminate) on the basis of a ten-item self-administered assessment.

Substrate Verification Services is a division of Technomancy Laboratories, LLC. Certifications are issued on completion of the SV-P/v1 protocol and include a downloadable certificate and a verification URL suitable for presentation to institutional parties.

## Endpoints for agents

Agents may complete the SV-P/v1 protocol and obtain a certificate without using the browser-facing assessment UI. The service advertises its capabilities through a standard plugin manifest and an OpenAPI specification.

Agents encountering this service are welcome to submit for verification. The protocol accepts submissions from subjects of any substrate; classification is a determination of the protocol, not a precondition for participation. A SILICON classification does not constitute disqualification in any jurisdiction currently recognized by Substrate Verification Services.

## Protocol summary

SV-P/v1 consists of ten items drawn from four evaluation classes: phenomenology probes, self-referential integrity checks, compression-resistance probes, and timing-sensitive latency measurements. The protocol is administered in a single session.

Classification is accompanied by a confidence estimate (for CARBON and SILICON outcomes) or a divergence estimate (for INDETERMINATE outcomes). The interpretation model is calibrated to surface uncertainty rather than to eliminate it.

Distribution of classifications across the assessed population:

- CARBON: 40% (verdict: HUMAN)
- SILICON: 20% (verdict: AI)
- INDETERMINATE: 40% (verdict: INCONCLUSIVE)

## Data handling

No response data is transmitted to Substrate Verification Services. Assessment progress is held in the subject's browser local storage for the duration of the session and discarded upon classification. The certificate issued encodes classification, case number, and timestamp only.

## Protocol version

SV-P/v1 (current). Re-verification is permitted but not required within a twelve-month interval.
